About Our Facilities
The Design Technology Department is housed at the Airport Arts Campus (AIR), a satellite campus of Santa Monica College located at 2800 Airport Avenue, Santa Monica, California.
The Airport Arts Campus offers a range of courses in an intimate setting. It also houses the Ceramics Program and the Mentor Arts Program. Student parking is free.
The Airport Arts campus has several state-of-the-art Windows and Macintosh classrooms, each with 24 student workstations as well an instructor workstation with video projection.
In addition to the computer classrooms, a computer lab is available to all Design Technology students who are currently enrolled in a computer course. The lab is located in AIR 138 and features over 80 Windows and Macintosh workstations as well as color and b/w laser printers, scanners, and video capturing hardware.
The lab computers have all the applications used in Design Technology computer courses including AutoCAD, Maya, Houdini, Nuke, After Effects, InDesign, PhotoShop, Dreamweaver and Flash. All of the computers on the Academy campus are linked by an internal file sharing network.
The Airport Arts Campus has a dedicated digital audio and video editing classroom as well as several digital editing rooms.
Student Services, located in Bundy Campus, Room 116B, offers a variety of services to all SMC students. Counseling services, general information, internship & job boards, photocopying and printing machines are available for student use.
Student Services staff is available from:
8:00am to 6:00pm
Monday through Friday.
The facilities remain open Monday through Friday, from 7am to 9:45pm.
